Still Here
A season of shifting, creating, and finding the next road forward.
If you’ve noticed things have been quieter on the publishing side lately, you’re not wrong. I wanted to take a moment to check in, be honest about where I am, and let you know that I’m still here.
My world is shifting right now. Not in a dramatic, sky-is-falling kind of way, just in that quiet, unmistakable way that tells you something is changing underneath your feet and the wisest thing you can do is pay attention. So that’s what I’m doing.
I’ve made the decision to take a hiatus from writing, at least the long-form, deadline-driven, production side of it. I have rough drafts and outlines in progress that I love, and I’ll get back to them when the timing is right. For now, I’m giving myself permission to let them breathe.
CurtissLynn Publishing is on hiatus as well. If you are an author with a title published through CLP, please check your inbox for a notice of rights reversion. Your work is yours, and I want to make sure it’s back in your hands.
My website will also be unavailable for a while as it goes through a redesign. I’ll let you know when it’s back up.
In the meantime, I’ve been turning more toward my art. Painting has a way of asking you to be present in a way nothing else quite does, and right now, I need that. It’s not a retreat. It’s a recalibration.
I'll also be mostly away from social media for the foreseeable future.
As for Substack? This is probably where you’ll find me most. The shorter pieces, the insights, the little stories that ramble around in my head. Honestly, this space has always felt the most like a conversation, and I’m not ready to walk away from that.
The world is changing. I’m changing with it. And I’ve come to believe that’s not something to resist. It’s something to move through with your eyes open.
So — onward and upward. I’ll see you here.
