🌸 Romance Blooms in June!🌸
Woman's World Magazine: A Star-Spangled Reunion of Hearts
I've got some big news, folks!
After taking a much-needed break in May, I came back to my office feeling rejuvenated, energized, and ready to tackle a stack of projects. And let me tell you, the list is long. There are edits to be done, blog posts to write, a full-length rough draft begging for attention, plus a novella and novelette that won't write themselves. But that's not all - each month, I submit a short story to Women's World Magazine, and have been doing so since last December.
The work has paid off! On Thursday, I received an email from Sienna Sullivan, Editorial Assistant for Woman's World Magazine, informing me that they had chosen my story, A Star-Spangled Reunion of Hearts, to be featured in their upcoming 7/1 issue. On sale 6/21-6/27!
How cool is that?!
For those who aren't familiar with the magazine , their 5-Minute romances are everything - sweet, uplifting, and totally addictive. They're all about unexpected encounters, new crushes, and rekindled love. Basically, they make your heart swoon in just five minutes flat. ☺️
I cannot tell you how much this means to me. Getting a short romance published by Woman's World Magazine is highly coveted among many romance writers for its wide readership, established reputation, and engaged audience. The magazine's millions of readers eagerly anticipate each issue, providing writers with unparalleled exposure and potential fan engagement. Being published in Woman's World signifies professional validation, offering both financial compensation (a shoutout to my bank account) and networking opportunities within the publishing world. This achievement not only showcases a writer's talent but also opens doors to further opportunities in the romance genre and beyond.
But I craved a spot in Woman's World because I genuinely loved the magazine. Their uplifting stories always brought a smile to my face and I wanted to be a part of that.
And let's not forget the challenge of it all. You see, these 5-minute romances aren’t easy to write. You've got 800 words max to create an entire love story with chemistry between the main characters and some witty dialogue thrown in for good measure. It's like trying to build a sandcastle in the middle of a hurricane. And to top it off, there’s no sex! Yikes! Imagine, me writing a romance without sex.
Honestly, it was so much fun! And because I loved writing the stories, my team at CurtissLynn Publishing and I have been brainstorming about a new series of sweet romance will be coming your way next year. So, if you’re a sweet romance fan, stay tuned!
